Toilet Has No Flush Power

This is not common but if you ve done every trick in the book to fix the toilet yourself it may be time to call in a professional who can diagnose the problem properly.

Toilet has no flush power.

If not adjust repair or replace to correct the problem. Look under your rim inside the bowl. Toilets usually lack flushing power because the waste pipe siphon jet or rim jets are partially clogged or the water level in the tank or bowl is too low. If you take a bath or wash dishes in the sink you can use the leftover water from these actions to fill up your toilet tank.

This is common in hard water areas. Low water pressure a malfunctioning toilet valve or flapper or blocked rim holes can impede. Take the ceramic cover off the tank in the back of your toilet. A pressure assist toilet contains a bladder that holds water under.

Flushing a toilet manually. If the flushing power of your toilet just isn t enough consider purchasing a new toilet that s designed with power in mind. If your toilet lacks the proper flushing power and you re looking for a solution you ve come to the right place. If the toilet doesn t flush efficiently then you most likely have a clogged toilet.

Try these two methods to flush your toilet during a power outage. These can usually be removed by hand. You will need to either buy jugs of water to use for this or get some from elsewhere. Using a toilet bowl cleaner for example lime a way or clorox hold the flapper open and pour 1 2 cups of cleaning solution down the flush valve opening.

Holding the flapper open see picture below let the majority of the water fall out of the tank. However if the toilet does seem to flush properly than you can move on. If the tank on the back of your toilet is unable to fill regardless of the reason you can force the toilet to flush with a bucket of water. The correct amount of water has to enter the toilet bowl to create enough suction.

You can do this by pouring a gallon of water into your toilet and flushing it. If you do not have running water you can still keep your toilet functioning by filling up the tank manually. If all is good with the water level in the tank and the tank empties when you flush you may have clogged holes in the rim of your toilet that are not allowing the full flush action of the bowl wash to work. If there is still no improvement in the flush power of the toilet check for blockages in the flapper valve which is located in the bottom of the tank.
